ABOUT THE BOOK
Prealgebra and Introductory Algebra by Cavanah and McKeague fits both the traditional, one-semester prealgebra course, and the one-semester introductory algebra course, but combined into one textbook. Students are introduced to negative numbers and equations early in the curriculum. Students are also introduced to evaluating algebraic expressions and solving algebraic equations early on in the text. These problems are found in subsequent chapters as new concepts are introduced. The common sequence of topics is enriched with applications, study skills, and other features as detailed below. We suggest encouraging your students to make regular use of these features—our objective is to help students build a foundation of successful studying practices that will beneï¬Ât them in their future courses.
